Wing Type Rubber Fender

wing (GD) type rubber fender is designed on the basis of D type rubber fender. It is usually installed on docks or ship to counteract the collision force between the dock and the ship during berthing and to prevent damage to the ship and the dock. The fender bottom width and pre-bulit-in steel plate has been enlarged. GD type rubber fender (Wing D rubber fender) is usually regarded as an alternative to other profiles as belting for tugs and workboats. The wings are forced into a jacking angle during installation and joints of adjacent sections are blocked to achieve a smooth and continuous contact surface. With the wings sit tightly within the angles, this type of arrangement is resistant to transverse and longitudinal shear-ideal for tugs.
